CosmiTec's Love Letter, Issue #120 -- Jupiter and Juno Weighed in the Balance
November 21, 2014
Dear

We are happy to have another guest writer who has done extensive research regarding Juno and Jupiter in matters of marriage and divorce and who wanted to share her findings with all of us.

Indeed, Karon D. Meakin has studied several hundreds astrological birth and wedding charts (of REAL people -- none of whom own a tropical island), separated into two groups; one set belonging to happily married ones and the other belonging to the divorced ones.

Karon's research presents another milestone in astrological research regarding marriage and divorce and we look forward to the results of her ongoing investigations.

December might become one of the most eventful and busy months of 2014.

We had to delineate more than 2 full pages listing all the daily astrological configurations we use to write the monthly forecasts.

Only the most important and powerful ones are written about though, not to overwhelm you with too much details and trying to keep things in perspective.

To sum up some major configurations:

  • Jupiter stations and turns retrograde
  • Uranus stations and turns direct
  • Stationing Uranus and Pluto are exactly square (it's the 6th out of 7 clashes between these giants, the last one will happen around March 16-17, 2015)
  • there is a New Moon at 0° Capricorn, a critical and very public degree representing governments, authorities, our society etc.
  • Saturn leaves Scorpio and enters Sagittarius
  • Mars leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius
To educate and inform you and to avoid unnecessary fear, we have written an article in this Love Letter about the upcoming (waning) Saturn-Neptune square that will start to become noticeable this December 2014 and will last about 2-2.5 years.

Ignorance often invokes fear and (fore)knowledge may bring understanding, insight and increased awareness.

In whatever you do or think, avoid fear and educate yourself because never ever is there anything to be feared of.

Fear is just a delusive and imaginary thought form that dissipates easily when your awareness grows.

All for love!

Love Forecasts for December 2014

Click here to download the December 2014 calendar in pdf format.

In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around December 6, December 14, December 21-22 and December 27-28.

During this month of December 2014, a couple of planetary configurations will affect some birthdays in particular:
  • If you are born around January 22, March 8, April 22-23, June 8, July 25, September 10, October 26 or December 9, this month of December 2014 brings thrilling successes and fortunate developments.

You are likely to experience tremendous optimism and establish new perspectives.

  • If you are born around February 1, March 18, May 3, June 19, August 5, September 20, or November 5, this month of December 2014 is about exciting surprises and a turn of events -- for good or ill.

  • If you are born around January 28, March 14, April 29, June 15, August 1, September 16 or November 1, there is something unreal going on this month.

There is an increased interest in mysticism, spirituality and the like.

In some instances, deaths of relatives or in your environment is possible to, as well as stillbirths.

  • If you are born around January 4, February 17, April 3, May 19, July 5-6, August 21-22, October 7 or November 21, there is a lot of expectation and 'daydreaming' going on in your life.

    Beware of self-delusion.

You tend to be more (self-)indulgent and may face some expenses.

  • If you are born around January 8, February 21, April 7, May 24, July 10, August 26, October 11 or November 25, this month of December 2014 may bring a fortunate change.

However, for some of you there can be a doctor's visit but in general, the astrological configurations point at good fortune and happy events.
Let's take a look now at how the month will unfold.

Mercury at 4° Sagittarius squares Neptune at 4° Pisces around December 1.

Because Neptune is very strong in its own sign Pisces and Mercury is in the sign of its detriment, this waning square suggests betrayal and lies.

You better don't sign any agreements because you may misread or misinterpret the small print.

Try to be diligent and try to pay attention to the minutest details.

It tends to be a very confusing day, full of foggy situations that prevent seeing things clearly.

In general and on a more mundane level, the early December days may bring pressure from others, autocratic leadership and being toppled from the position.

Around December 2-3, you are separated from a loved one -- which troubles you a lot.

This may especially apply to you if you are born around January 25, March 10-11, April 25, June 11-12, July 28, September 13, October 28 or December 12.

Mars enters independent and rebellious Aquarius around December 4-5.

Mars is currently in a very shocking position and may point to accidental falls, accidents and/or hospital visits.

In this fixed air sign that Aquarius is, Mars fights for freedom and independence and is campaigning for change and transformation.

Mars in Aquarius needs a cause to fight for in a stubborn and brusque way and without restraint.

Either Mars is selfish here and goes his own way or he will defend the ones who share the same (intellectual) interests.

There is a huge (unfulfilled) longing for a loved one around December 6 and you miss someone.

This may especially apply to you if you are born around January 28, March 14, April 29, June 14, August 1, September 16, November 1 or December 15.

On a mundane level, there can be a search for missing people.

If you are born around January 22, March 8, April 22-23, June 8, July 25, September 10, October 26 or December 9, expect some happy events around December 8 like births, engagements, marriages, promotions etc.

The Sun and Mercury meet at 16° Sagittarius around December 8, making an announcement.

At the same day of December 8 Jupiter stations at 22° Leo and starts to turn retrograde.

Retrograde Jupiter at 22° Leo is in a stressful position, often resulting in a black-out due to some 'overflow.'

In its retrograde motion, Jupiter will be more reserved, less flamboyant, less optimistic and more cautious.

Also, retrograde Jupiter is less generous and chances are you may spend less and not as freely as when Jupiter is direct.

If you are born around February 1, March 18, May 3, June 19, August 5, September 20, November 5 or December 19, there is an important and intense change in your love (and/or financial) life going on around December 8-9.

If you are born around January 22, March 8, April 22-23, June 8, July 25, September 10, October 26 or December 9, expect fortunate news and auspicious events going on around December 9.

If you are born around January 24, March 9-10, April 24, June 10, July 27, September 12, October 27 or December 11, there is successful teamwork, nice agreements and lots of sharing success and appreciation around December 10.

Venus enters corporate and distant Capricorn around December 10 and is more focused on money, esteem and career than love.

In Capricorn, Venus looks for status and a big wallet.

Venus from now on follows the money.

If you are born around January 25, March 10-11, April 25, June 11-12, July 28, September 13, October 28 or December 12, there is a lot of stress around December 10-11.

These birthdays may be obliged to make a trip, face bad news and/or have to do some research or pondering to solve some difficult issues around that day.

Moreover, the same birthdays of January 25, March 10-11, April 25, June 11-12, July 28, September 13, October 28 or December 12 will face a lot of oppression and will need to fight.

In some instances the astrological configurations suggest fighting for one's life and/or reputation and/or violence (and/or ill health) in some way.

These birthdays will need to work very hard and do the utmost around mid December.

If you are born around this day of December 12, your whole (solar return) year (counting from birthday to birthday) is marked by these oppressive configurations.

Expect to cancel your plans around December 12-13.

If you are born around January 4, February 17, April 3, May 19, July 5-6, August 21-22, October 7 or November 21, you too will have to cancel your plans around December 12 and may feel pessimistic, disappointed and sad.

Around December 14, you will have to be self-contained because you may live in difficult surrounding situations.

You want to be alone or possibly are left alone.

This will especially apply to you if you are born around January 27, March 13, April 27-28, June 13, July 30, September 15, October 30-31 or December 14.

If you are born around this day of December 14, these lonely configurations will mark your whole (solar return) year (counting from birthday to birthday).

Also around this day of December 14, Saturn is at 29° Scorpio, a very oppressive and separative degree that points to the inability to develop oneself, severe difficulties to deploy and to feel limited and fenced in.

Any planet at 29° in a sign is told to be at the 'end of the rope' and often, this can (and has to) be taken literally.

Saturn represents a parent (or the parents), the elderly or older people, key persons, people in charge, authority figures etc.

In a general way and irrespective of a birthday, till Saturn enters Sagittarius around December 23 (see below), things don't turn out as you wished for and you will need to adjust and use some strategy to cope with the current situation.

(Stationing) Uranus at 12° Aries squares Pluto at 12° Capricorn around December 15 and both bodies are at their most powerful position in their respective zodiac signs.

However, because Uranus is already stationing (we'll delve into this in a second), Uranus is currently much stronger than Pluto.

This indicates that liberating energies will clash with conservative corporate energies and will overpower them.

It's a clash between The awakening Light (Uranus in Aries) and The forceful Dark (Pluto in Capricorn), The Light being the stronger now.

Clearly, in this situation, this powerful generational square will bring shocks, revolts, clashes, unsettling moments, protests etc. showing governments, the banking and corporate world have to listen to individuals who fight for more freedom and independence.

It's the 6th square between Uranus and Pluto out of 7, so there still is one more to go (in March 2015).

Expect a lot of upheaval in December 2014, leaving governments, the corporate world etc. almost powerless!

You better cancel all your plans for mid December and/or make sure you have a plan B and a plan C.

If you are born around December 15, your whole (solar return) year (counting from birthday to birthday) is marked by weakness, a lack of energy, unfulfilled plans and/or leaving the environment.

If you are born around January 28, March 14, April 29, June 15, August 1, September 16 or November 1, you lack energy, feel weak or paralyzed and sad around December 16.

The astrological configurations around December 16 point to separation, sadness, a shock and severe resistance against oppression.

Around December 16-17 Mercury enters corporate Capricorn and indicates news and/or messages coming from the government or an authority.

There is disappointment noticeable around December 17-18 and it's very difficult to adjust and adapt to each other's wishes and expectations.

In some instances, the astrological patterns point to hospital visits as well.

The disappointing configurations and possible hospital visits may especially apply to you if you are born around January 30, March 16, April 30, June 16, August 2, September 18, November 2 or December 17.

December 19-20 brings an important change in your love or financial life.

Around the New Moon of December 21-22, Uranus stations at 12° Aries and turns direct again.

This station will not go unnoticed at all, especially not because Uranus is at one of the most powerful degrees in a sign.

This denotes that Uranus is able to apply full force and bring its essence free out into the open.

12° Aries is a very manic degree and a transitional one as well.

As if that was not enough yet, around the same day of the New Moon, the Sun enters Capricorn and is itself at a very powerful degree that represents the governments, leaders of state and our society as a whole.

No doubt, this is an unsettling New Moon that will shock many.

Expect breakthroughs, stress and tension, discoveries and innovations but also more accidents and more people becoming distrustful and disenchanted of governments, authority, the banking and corporate world.

Around December 22-23 Venus at 15° Capricorn squares the Nodes implying some time alone and being separated from (a) loved one(s).

In matters of love and relationships (in the widest sense), this is not too good a day.

Strict and limiting Saturn enters wide and open Sagittarius around December 23.

As long as Saturn resides in this open-minded and free-minded sign, scientific and strict thinking will learn to understand that there is a bigger picture, that there are higher perspectives.

Indeed, science will be redefined in some way and chances are the world view of many people will slowly change in favor of the bigger picture.

This will be the more so because Saturn is now building a wide square with dissolving Neptune, very strong in its own sign Pisces.

In the coming 2-2.5 years, scientific Saturn will have to submit to the energies of dissolving and spiritual Neptune.

Ultimately, physics and metaphysics are one and this will become more and more apparent in the next years!

Because the entrance of Saturn in Sagittarius is already triggering the wide square with Neptune, we have written a separate article about this waning aspect in this Love Letter.

Christmas Eve may be quite sober and you may miss someone.

Around December 25 Mercury at 12° Capricorn squares stationing Uranus at 12° Aries and conjoins Pluto.

This square is accident-prone!

Beware of traffic accidents and transportation accidents.

Also, and above all, it's a very very talkative (and noisy) combo.

Some breaking news is to be expected here and there.

In some areas, this configuration may bring stormy weather as well.

Mercury at 15° Capricorn squares the Nodes around December 26 implying misunderstandings, criticism and separation.

December 28 is marked by sorrow and expectations that turn out differently.

What's New on Our Web Site?

Astrodienst revamped its web site implying that we had to edit the instructions (and screenshots) on about 15 pages showing how to get your horoscope wheels and calculations from them.

Astrodienst is a Swiss based company, delivering top notch chart drawings and tons of calculations not found anywhere in the world!

We added a page about marriage in Venus returns , an article that we previously published in a Love Letter.

We also added some information about an 8th software program (Planetdance) on the Compatibility Horoscopes page.

There were minor text and link changes here and there on different pages and we continued changing old HMTL4 scripts into HTML5.

Jupiter and Juno Weighed in the Balance

Sometime after William Lilly was buried astrologers began to have a harder time of it.

Enlightenment got the upper hand.

If it could not be weighed and set on fire in a little enamel bowl it was banished as a product of primitive superstition (Orthodox religion was not only exempt from this purging but remained respectable enough to point out astrology was sinful.)

In recent times western astrologers have engaged in a series of open affairs with eastern religions, psychology, philosophy and history in an attempt to regain academic legitimacy.

These relationships bore a lot of fruit but not of a kind to impress the outside world.

As a result astrologers now hide in a whole range of imaginatively wrapped boxes, labelled up for whichever department can smuggle them in without losing funding.

All these efforts continue to be of enormous value in supporting serious work but they are not astrology itself, which is in danger of being pushed aside while we are busy proving which technique is oldest, by tracking scribal errors.

Unless we take what is academically correct and use it as the foundation of improved working practice the living craft may be seen, even more often, as only a star in the history of human gullibility.

To those who are put off the craft work, because the artisan is never as respectable as the academic, I offer Michelangelo as an example of a guy who also knew how to whack a hammer.

Psychological astrology swept away all the fatalistic, medieval, mumbo jumbo thirty or more years ago.

It did well for a time because it was expected to encourage a lot of trade in California.

At this point it is the history of astrology that is providing a few astrologers with a steady job, so the old techniques are now redefined as rigorous and superior.

We are left with two camps, each criticising the other, for what I suspect are the wrong reasons.

It seems time for us to start properly testing theories from wherever they have emerged, rather than trust in the ones chosen by the people with the bigger houses.

I have begun testing two groups of charts, the first consists of people who have been married for at least 20 years and are still happy, the second group have all been divorced.

I also compared their wedding charts.

In total over 400 charts were included.

This study was chosen for two reasons.

The first is because a successful relationship is one of the most fundamental needs of a human being but relationship astrology is judged as very inferior to drawing up a chart for Baghdad, or a box of lost fish.

The second is because the chart of a marriage that ended in divorce is a chart of an entity that failed.

By comparing successful and failed partnerships we ought to see not only what works in human terms but which of our treasured techniques actually showed the success and failure at the outset. We ought then to modify our methods or thinking and weed out the rubbish.

I began by looking at The Part of Marriage and moved on to Juno because I expected these things were LESS likely to prove astrology works than if I compared Venus or the 7th house and its planets.

I reasoned that if these ‘weaker‘ elements were in a different state in the two groups then there would be more obvious differences in the ‘ more important ’ symbols and the project would be worth continuing.

In fact I was surprised at just how powerful a force Juno proved to be, although (in my view) she can never be considered the ruler of marriage and she cannot be judged separately from Jupiter her spouse.

These two characters are a polarity and proved interesting enough that they formed the basis of an entire book.

In brief I discovered evidence that:

Juno is what is given up for the partnership before it can be formed and, or what it is necessary to put into the relationship for it to survive.

Jupiter shows the rewards that come as a result of the efforts of Juno.

These two are the essential balance of a pair bond.

Jupiter may be viewed as the symbol for Husband in a chart and compared with the Sun as the symbol of Man, the two are not necessarily the same.

Similarly Juno is wife and Moon Woman.

Therefore some degree of harmony between Juno and Moon and Jupiter and Sun is generally as helpful as harmony between the two spouses.

It is necessary to know the occupations or major life activities of the people concerned to weigh the charts.

A ‘bad’ placement or three may be explained as descriptive of these other activities.

Jupiter in Capricorn is a case in point.

The condition of the two rulers is as important as the state of the two bodies themselves.

The old rulers seem preferable to the new.

Rulership is not an automatic benefit, it confers strength, which may be abused.

One of the signs of rulership may be preferable because it is a better fit for the circumstances.

Exaltation is not simply a weaker form of rulership but has a character of its own.

In this context it often fails because it is difficult to manage.

Detriment seems preferable to fall.

In certain situations detriment actually appears beneficial, by curbing excess power.

Jupiter in marriage often falls into this category.

Technically Juno cannot have dignity but her comfort zones seem to be Scorpio and Virgo.

Capricorn will do.

Libra is where she is forced to make the best of it, not her first choice.

By nature neither archetype likes Libra or Taurus.

Aries is the nearest thing the two have to common ground and Virgo / Pisces the best polarity for their positive expression.

Juno and Jupiter in some signs suit men and women differently.

Placements that work well in a natal chart may do less well at a wedding and vice versa.

This is because there is a shift of position and, in theory, a bargain formed by two humans at the point of the ceremony.

A wedding chart that might have been elected because it is so ‘ good ’ may still fail because it is not a description of the two individuals.

Similarly there may be danger in a marriage abroad because the entity born during that lavish once-in-a-lifetime trip is likely to be a very bad fit for the normal life of the pair.

The transits associated with the trip pass and the angles and emphasis in the houses of the wedding chart shift at home.

In a wedding chart, in the sample tested, the best aspects involving Juno, Jupiter, their rulers and the lights were the conjunction and opposition (Oneness or balance).

The trine was no guarantee of success.

The sextile was more often in the divorces (perhaps a shallower approach).

The square was more prone to failure but the worst indicator was the semi-square followed by the inconjunct.

It was usually possible to see what mitigated the ‘bad’ aspects in the happy pairs.

Mutual reception seemed positive, sometimes even with detriment.

Some mundane work showed that Juno is active and significant in areas outside matrimony.

She may represent the underdog, who is nevertheless significant because she has something of value to the other party or she is capable of long-term guerrilla warfare.

This is just as tiresome for a business or government as it is for a husband.

The Upcoming Saturn-Neptune Square

With Saturn entering mutable Sagittarius around December 23, 2014, it will trigger the square with Neptune which is currently posited at 5° Pisces.

Though the orb is still rather wide, both planets already share the mutable cross and will mark the upcoming years.

Aside from a mundane influence, this aspect will especially affect people who are born under the sun signs and ascending signs Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.

Depending upon the orb, this aspect will last about 2-2.5 years and will be exact at the following days:
  • November 26, 2015 at 7° Sagittarius-Pisces
  • June 17, 2016 at 12° Sagittarius-Pisces
  • September 10, 2016 at 10° Sagittarius-Pisces
This waning square can be divided into three parts: first, there is the waning square, then, there is Saturn in Sagittarius and finally, there is Neptune in its own sign Pisces.

The waning square and its principle

A waning square can be compared with the Last Quarter Moon phase.

The waning square is just another 'Last Quarter Phase' and has the same meanings and concept.

Planetary aspects can best be defined when looking at their respective phase and the last quarter phase is above all about wrapping things up.

A waning square presents a time of evaluation and review and making ready to start anew.

Because of the square aspect, this is still an action-oriented aspect (and phase) and something is still happening.

This is a cleansing phase and sometimes you will realize you are now at the top of your goals in some ways.

Clean things up, eliminate waste and dispose of everything that has no value any longer.

Prepare to move on.

Family and the career are likely to bring the most changes during this Last Quarter phase and you will often ask 'where do we stand now.'

In some cases, a waning square may challenge your reputation and/or position.

Saturn in Sagittarius

Limiting Saturn of boundaries feels rather awkward in expansive and freedom-loving Sagittarius.

Both are interested in law, philosophy and academic topics though.

Saturn needs structures and material, tangible things while Sagittarius just loves the concepts and higher perspective.

Clearly, there is a conflict here between theory and practice, between boundaries and limitless possibilities and between rigid and open vision (world view) in focusing on one's goals.

Saturn is cautious while Sagittarius is more extravert and flamboyant.

In Sagittarius, cautious Saturn represents a sceptic person who has it difficult to 'believe.'

As long as Saturn resides in this mutable fire sign, faith, religion and world view will be redefined (very slowly) because one still tends to 'hook' or cling to old beliefs, rules and concepts.

Irrespective of the sign Saturn is in, this planet always represents older people (the elderly, a parent,...), key persons, higher ups, VIPs, the boss and/or employer, a leader (of state, of a corporation,...) and the one (authority) in charge.

Saturn also represents delays, the concept of Time and reality checks.

Neptune in Pisces

We already discussed this planetary position in a previous Love Letter ( read it again here -- the links in the article may no longer work though).

Suffice to say that the key principle of Neptune in its own sign is one of dissolving.

Combining it all together

When combining this all together, it's clear that the waning square in and on itself has the same meaning as a Saturn-Neptune square.

During the whole time frame of the waning Saturn-Neptune square, Neptune remains the stronger of the two because it's in its own sign.

This denotes that Saturn, and all that it represents will have to submit to Neptune's forces and energies!

This is something you have to take into account.

Hence, this waning square suggests the death of a parent (or parents) and the leaving of leaders (of state, of a corporation,...) for whatever reason (death, illness, imprisonment, career changes,...).

It comes as no surprise that astrologer and researcher Nicholas Champion wrote in 'Mundane Astrology' about an important new phase of the evolution of the British monarchy when discussing the Saturn-Neptune square.

For more information, this article gives some insight.

Also, this aspect is reportedly benefiting democracy, political changes and reforms.

The French mundane astrologer André Barbault considers this to be the paramount cycle which governs the development of socialism-communism.

We will likely see many regulations and restrictions dissolve during the next 2-2.5 years.

For some of you, who truly need structures and 'fixed' rules, this upcoming time frame will bring quite some issues because chaos will be prevalent.

This will be the more so because both planets are in (less focused and easily distracted) mutable signs.

You will have the impression that institutions and our society crumble, leading to feelings of insecurity and fear.

This waning square is most challenging for corporations, the banking world and governments because it may denote bankruptcy and financial issues as well as disintegrating power and control issues.

It's a time of letting go, fully -- even if it will take 2-2.5 years.

This waning Saturn-Neptune square will learn you to look inward, rely on your own Self and follow your inner path, not the one others have constructed for you or imposed upon you -- because that path is dissolving.

Unfortunately, confusion may reign and it's likely that more and more people will 'lose' memory, experience dementia-like symptoms, ultimately losing the reality or grips of life.

Likewise, some people will experience more 'hallucinations', have increased visions which will bring up the question 'Is this real?'

People may become more 'paranoid.'

Irrespective of the individual health situation, understand that this planet is shifting to higher frequencies and vibrations and that we are slowly learning to use our intuition rather than our rational mind.

The ultimate goal is to become more psychic (Neptune!) and spiritual.

This should put 'losing your memory' in a better perspective.

The concept of Time will change and it's likely delays and setbacks will slowly dissolve as well.

Old structures and autocratic rules will slowly disappear with morals changing.

So, it is of no help clinging to the past and/or what has no worth any longer.

What you once thought was 'scientific', no longer is -- as you will observe during the next 2-2.5 years.

This waning phase between Saturn and Neptune will also show masks falling off, the veil lifting further, fences and walls vanishing to make this world more open.

It also dissolves parasites (literally or figuratively) and will help cleanse this planet from many unwanted sticky influences and energies further in many ways.

Even though this waning square will bring illness and/or uncomfortable situations for sure (especially as long as the Uranus-Pluto square is still active), look at the purpose and ultimate goal: wrapping up and cleansing to start something anew.

This Last Quarter phase is related to decay (think tooth decay) and it's well adviced to take care of your health and body by having lots of (deep) sleep.

Your body will likely be more in 'detox mode' and may try to get rid of lots of waste built up over time.

So, try to support your body as good and natural as possible.

Unlike Mars and Uranus that work fast, Saturn and Neptune need more time with things hanging on, lingering on, slowly deteriorating.

Those in authority will be obliged to obey and be of service and serve higher ideals.

Sceptic people will slowly start to leave their defences and open their eyes.

An interesting example of how this waning Saturn-Neptune square may work have we found here in Belgium.

Know that Saturn represents form and matter and Neptune rules liquids (water).

Here in Belgium there will be a debate going on during this waning Saturn-Neptune square about bio-cremation (dissolving a dead body in liquid instead of burning it).

This perfectly fits the description of the waning Saturn-Neptune square!

How remarkable is it that planetary cycles influence this planet!

In astrometeorology, the Saturn-Neptune square matches severe winters.

This may result in ice cold weather in 2015-2016 in some areas.

Also, the weather patterns may linger on.

Let ignorant 'scientists' talk about ice ages and/or global warming.

These are all hoaxes and analyzing (planetary) phases and (roughly) 18- and 36-year cycles prove it over and over.

Studying astrology just puts everything so much more in perspective.
