We're heading for 2018, a year that will start to bring huge changes on a mundane level.

Some sources claim the period between 2018-2021 will bring us in "the eye of the storm", starting to open the box of Pandora and dismantle numerous structures and institutions (political, financial and religious, among others).

It might become the most cleansing period the earth has ever experienced resulting in a new start that is likely to begin after 2021 with the rebuilding of a new society.

Astrologically, these claims do make sense when looking at some highly powerful standouts in 2018:

  • Saturn has entered Capricorn around December 20, 2017 and will remain in this zodiac sign the whole year 2018 long
  • Uranus, the independent disrupter, enters inert and resistant Taurus mid 2018 and will drill through concrete structures and walls, shaking a whole lot
  • Chiron, the maverick, enters selfish Aries denoting increased pushing through one's individuality, uninhibited self-expression and a strong need to overcome any obstacles
The entrance of Uranus in Taurus will bring the most profound changes, often in a shocking and unexpected way.

Don't resist the changes because they happen for the better and this transit WILL always win -- it's that powerful and transformative.

If you don't want to marry, change your residence, change your job, or whatever.., in 2018 you might take a BIG U-turn -- and be very surprised by that yourself.

Because Taurus is the sign of material security, comfort, possessions, money and finances, this heavy transit is likely to stir up the comfort zone of many of us till 2026.

In the end, independent Uranus in financial Taurus may bring financial independence and freedom though, which would be a very auspicious outcome indeed.

In Capricorn, Saturn becomes the wall-builder, increasing defensive behavior and people (and governments alike) requesting to tighten security.

In some ways, Saturn in its own sign Capricorn has to learn to live with limitations, boundaries and restrictions and will need to lower the expectations a little.

Demands are often too high.

Also, the focus will be on governments, the corporate and banking world, leaders of state and higher-ups who may face or endure additional stress, trials and testing times.

Chiron in commanding and busy Aries will learn people to control aggressiveness (either of themselves or of others).

In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around January 2, January 8, January 15-16, January 23 and/or January 29.

During this month of January, the are no specific planetary configurations that affect some birthdays.

Generally speaking, January 2, 3, 4 and 18 are less "lucky" days.

Try not to initiate any major projects on these dark, unfortunate, chaotic and empty days (no proposals, no marriages, no changes of residence,...) because things may not go as planned or wished.

Uranus stations and turns direct at 24° Aries around the January 2 Full Moon.

This heavy station involves innovation, breakthroughs, discoveries, inventions in whatever fields.

Because a Full Moon always brings awareness and things out into the open, in the public world, expect some unexpected revelations and explosive breaking news during this station of Uranus, the awakener.

At 24° Aries, a degree of exposing lies and secrets, truth setting one free and the "end of a seemingly stable situation", some information, exposed during the station, may be shocking but highly revealing.

Around January 5 Mars at 16° Scorpio squares the Lunar Nodes, indicating a delicate period as you may know if you regularly read our forecasts.

Any challenging Mars-Lunar Nodes aspect is related to mass incidents resulting in physical injuries, shootings, traffic accidents and/or other explosive accidents.

Mars and Jupiter meet around January 6-7 adding to the spreading of the accident-prone Mars-Lunar Nodes aspect.

Indeed, Jupiter enlarges, magnifies whatever planet it aspects and in this case, accident-prone situations may become large or huge.

If you are born around January 6, February 4-5, March 6-7, April 5-6, May 6-7, June 6-7, July 8, August 8-9, September 8-9, October 9, November 8 or December 8, you feel loved around January 6-7.

It's a sociable time for you and you may attend parties, gatherings, celebrations or just enjoy with (a) loved one(s) or some group.

There is also stress and/or nervousness noticeable around the same days of January 6-7 and expect some internet issues and/or issues related to electricity and/or electronics.

If you are born around January 14, February 12-13, March 14-15, April 14, May 14-15, June 15, July 16-17, August 16-17, September 16-17, October 17, November 16 or December 16, you may feel the nervous tension most.

The Sun, Venus and Pluto all conjoin around January 9 at 19° Capricorn and build a highly passionate and unique combo.

There is irresistible attraction and if you are born around January 9, February 7-8, March 9-10, April 9, May 9-10, June 10, July 11, August 11-12, September 11-12, October 12, November 11 or December 11, this combo will affect you most.

Expect a passionate and wild ride...

For some of you, primal desires and urges may almost get out of hand and get a karmic or fated overtone.

If you are born around this day of January 9, your whole (solar return) year (counting from birthday to birthday) is full of passion, intense emotional feelings and love desires.

The time frame between January 8 and 10 is particularly auspicious for anyone's love life overall.

If you are born around January 11-12, February 25, April 11, May 28, July 14, August 30, October 15 or November 28-29, you may encounter the love of your life or experience life-changing romantic moments.

Around January 13 Mercury and Saturn conjoin at 2° Capricorn.

Saturn being the stronger of the two (because it's in its own sign Capricorn) suggests documents, news, information from the government and/or that are related to rules and regulations.

Things have to be interpreted in a strict and narrow way now.

Around January 13 Venus at 24° Capricorn squares Uranus at 24° Aries.

Short-lived attractions and enjoyable meetings or encounters may occur.

A nice word, a gift or present would please anyone now.

The Sun at 24° Capricorn too squares Uranus at 24° Capricorn around January 14 making for some exciting and thrilling days.

Enjoy the moments.

Venus enters humanitarian and freedom-loving Aquarius around the January 17-18 New Moon.

Currently, Venus needs some intelligent, intellectual stimuli.

Beware of some sudden and disturbing changes in the weather around this New Moon.

Around January 19-20 the Sun enters Aquarius, the sign of its detriment because the ego (the Sun) now submits to group interests (Aquarius).

Mercury and Pluto conjoin at 19° Capricorn around January 24 suggesting annoyance, obsessive thoughts and tense communications.

Impulsive Mars enters exaggerating Sagittarius around January 26.

You tend to become a crusader, imposing your beliefs and fighting for your convictions.

This is a very political position for Mars to be in but the danger is that Mars tends to overdo and over-stretch.

Also, beware of traffic accidents.

Around January 28 Mercury at 24° Capricorn squares Uranus at 24° Aries.

This is a turbulent aspect because the square is waning, suggesting misunderstandings, nervous tension, the canceling of plans or meetings, air crashes and/or transportation accidents and/or sleeplessness, among others.

Separation is in the air and some events are upsetting a group or society.

Venus at 15° Aquarius opposes the mean Lunar North Node, indicating the need to be left alone, even withdraw.

This is not a time for socializing.

Some of you may face some financial issues and a low budget or low cash flow.

Around the January 31 Lunar Eclipse at 11° Leo (a so-called "Royal degree"), Mercury enters disruptive Aquarius.

This Lunar Eclipse (the 2nd Full Moon this month) suggests a sudden (and even shocking) turn of events for the better.

Beware of irritation though.

Conjunctions to the Ruler of the 7th house

On our web site we discussed the ruler of the 7th house and how it describes your relationships so well.

This time, we will get even more specific by analyzing the planetary conjunctions to the ruler of the 7th house.

When the ruler of the 7th house is conjunct another planet or body, it makes sense the conjunction may color the relationship yet more or describe the partner in more detail.

And that's what we have found indeed.

In our research we only analyzed conjunctions with only one single planet or body.

In case more planets conjunct the ruler of the 7th house, the outcome may differ and be more complicated.

The bottom line of what we found is that the planet that conjuncts the ruler of the 7th house most often rules the zodiac sign the partner was born under.

For example, if the ruler of the 7th house is conjunct Mars, the partner is very often born an Aries or a Scorpio.

If the ruler of the 7th house is conjunct Mercury, the partner is most often born under the zodiac sign of Gemini or Virgo.

If your partner is not born under the zodiac sign, (s)he can be fully described by the planetary symbolism though.

If the planet that conjuncts the ruler of the 7th house is:
  • the Sun: your partner is, or loves to be, in the spotlight.
  • the Moon: your partner is family-oriented, a dreamer and highly sensitive who loves to take care.
  • Mercury: your partner is cerebral, analytical and often takes little trips or is on the move often.
  • Venus: your partner is peace-loving and always looking to beautify the environment with good tastes.
  • Mars: your partner is impulsive and an entrepreneur who is always busy.
  • Jupiter: your partner is a teacher or lecturer and interested in travel and/or ideologies.
  • Saturn: your partner is a serious person with self-discipline and/or a governmental worker.
