CosmiTec's Love Letter, Issue #172 -- Mars Saturn Connections
March 21, 2019
Dear

Quite a lot of astrological activity is going on in April: three planetary stations (of outer planets), 3 ingresses and 6 stationing midpoints of outer planets.

The roller coaster ride continues... ;)

We lately read an interesting astrological research study about people who were divorced at least three times in life.

The study was published in a German astrology magazine and though it only highlighted some isolated key factors, it's always interesting to read the findings of others.

It's still our opinion and even our conviction that most astrological research studies are wrong because they only look at isolated single astrological conditions (the single pieces of a puzzle) that stand out one way or the other, instead of looking for (a) chain(s) of astrological conditions that build the picture of the puzzle.

That's why even statistical research can only be wrong.

But we know, there is no astrological software to our knowledge, that is able to analyze such vast and complex combinations, to find those combos that can only be found in the analyzed charts and not in the control groups at all.

However, after all, it's not about (statistical) probabilities but about simple binary facts (you are married or your aren't, you have children or you haven't etc.) making that only configurations that are not found in the control groups at all can be relevant and important.

This means that even a single minor astrological condition may become highly important and significant in combination of and in relationship with other astrological configurations in that it would otherwise be left unresearched.

It has been quite a while since we wrote about (Mars) connections and this time we would like to discuss the natal Mars-Saturn connections or affinities more in-depth in our featured article below.

Lots of love !

In general and on a mundane level, events are likely to happen around April 5, April 11-12, April 18 and/or April 24-25.

During this month of April, the following planetary configurations will affect some birthdays in particular:
  • If you are born around January 12, February 25, April 12, May 28, July 14, August 30, October 15 or November 29, this month is about hard (physical) work.

You do the utmost to survive and get over some harsh (physical) situations.

Some of you may fear a loss while others may experience forced changes.

  • If you are born around February 3, March 19, May 4, June 20, August 6, September 22, November 6 or December 20-21, this month suggests fortunate changes and progress.

It looks like a door opens and brings you to another level.

  • If you are born around January 26, March 11, April 26, May 27-28, June 12, July 29, September 14, October 29 or December 13, this month may bring financial losses and/or expenses.

You are more daydreaming or want to follow a dream but you may be misguided as well.

So, beware of big disappointments too.

  • If you are born around February 11, March 28, May 13, June 29, August 15, September 30, November 15 or December 29, this month may bring a change of residence, a move, changing the place, travel but also study and gathering experiences.

Some of you may be active in the fields of construction work.

There is some dissatisfaction noticeable and some of you should guard their health (because of possible liver issues) also.

  • If you are born around February 12, March 29, May 14, June 30, August 16, October 1, November 16 or December 30, this month may bring fortunate developments.

You are able to successfully organize events and are very optimistic.

  • If you are born around January 4, February 17, April 3, May 19, July 5, August 21, October 6-7 or November 21, this may become a month full of windfalls and happy surprises.

There is relief of some situation.
Generally speaking, April 19 is a "less lucky" day.

Try not to initiate any major projects on this dark, unfortunate, chaotic and empty day (no proposals, no marriages, no changes of residence,...) because things may not go as planned or wished.

Around April 1, there is a distance between you and a beloved one.

Love brings sorrow and separation, especially if you are born around January 12, February 25, April 12, May 28, July 14, August 30, October 15 or November 29.

Around April 2, Mercury and Neptune conjoin at 17° Pisces.

Mercury is in the sign of its detriment while Neptune is in its own sign and thus the stronger of the two.

This conjunction lacks boundaries, self-control and responsibility, resulting in chaos.

There is a lack of consciousness and you seem to be unable to see things clearly.

During these early April days, you tend to avoid responsibility and have it difficult to respect boundaries.

Around the April 5 New Moon, there can be love at first sight and enjoyable but short-lived encounters that may especially affect you if you are born around January 17, March 2-3, April 17, June 2-3, July 20, September 4-5, October 20 or December 4.

Venus and Neptune conjoin at the same degree of 17° Pisces around April 10, while the Sun at 20° Aries squares Saturn at 20° Capricorn and Jupiter stations at 24° Sagittarius to turn backward.

The Venus-Neptune conjunction suggests missing a beloved one.

In mystic, idealistic and glamorous Pisces, this conjunction suggests remembering and imagining a (be)loved one in an idealistic but also platonic way.

There is a longing that cannot be fulfilled.

The additional waxing Sun-Saturn square adds the will to get rid of formalities, rituals, regulations and/or authorities.

You may feel blocked in your creative self-expression, feel hampered by restrictions and burdens, and face high expectations but still want to push through nevertheless.

This is not an aspect of compliance but of tenaciously and rigidly sticking to conservative or past principles, traditions and/or rules.

It's an aspect that brings a clouded sky and a sad mood.

The accompanying Jupiter station in its own sign Sagittarius hampers the optimism as well.

Most often, when Jupiter turns retrograde it affects the economy in some way and people are less willing to buy or spend.

Because Jupiter always magnifies, expands or enlarges, it is likely it will create a huge shock with accompanying paralysis around its station.

Around April 11, the mood is sad and you do the utmost to carry through (physically as well as emotionally).

It's a period of hard work, which may affect you especially if you are born around January 12, February 25, April 12, May 28, July 14, August 30, October 15 or November 29.

You also realize you have to go it alone.

Around April 12, Mercury at 24° Pisces squares stationing Jupiter at 24° Sagittarius while the Sun at 22° Aries squares the mean Lunar Nodes.

Most Mercury-Jupiter aspects tend to exaggerate in expressing views or opinions.

Speeches may become blunt and there may be some misunderstandings.

Beware of financial losses, expenses and legal documents.

Following astrometeorology, this aspect may indicate windy weather.

You may face a setback, minor health issues, and may feel alone also.

Around April 13, the Sun at 23° Aries squares Pluto at 23° Capricorn.

Actually, mid April, the Sun is the apex body of a T-square because it squares the opposition between the Lunar North Node and Pluto.

Hence, this astrological configuration suggests imposing one's will onto others or being under the influence or force of others.

Mid April marks a period full of power conflicts.

Venus at 24° Pisces squares stationing Jupiter at 24° Sagittarius around April 16, resulting in expenses, bills to be paid and/or financial losses.

Too much of a good thing is never good and this aspect is all about exaggeration, overdoing, indulgence, extravagance, wastefulness and being involved in many "affairs."

Mercury enters Aries around April 17 denoting a (surprising) message, news, document or letter about "a first", a (new) start, ...

There can be some confusion around though.

Mercury and Chiron conjoin at 3° Aries around the April 19 Full Moon, marking possible internet and/or power outages as well as electronics and electrical devices breaking down or malfunctioning and causing lots of disruptions.

The Sun enters stable and inert Taurus around April 20, emphasizing the importance of material and tangible goods, money, possessions and property.

Around the same day of April 20, Venus will enter Aries and try to find out how sexy and attractive one is.

Venus is the Sun's dispositor and when it, at the same time as the Sun's ingress into Taurus, enters Aries, it will mark an important day and shift for sure.

In the sign of its detriment, Venus confirms a period to pay bills, face expenses and/or financial losses.

In Aries, Venus loves action and adventure and is instinctively attracted to people who serve the armed forces (the military or the police).

The Sun and Uranus meet at 2° Taurus around April 22-23 and may cause a stir, a shock or disrupt the harmony.

This is the more so because heavy Pluto at 23° Capricorn stations and turns retrograde around April 24.

Anytime Pluto stations in an earth sign, it may cause some natural earth-related disasters (like earthquakes, earth-shocks, mining disasters, landslides etc...

Though Pluto is a slow moving generational body and affects the whole month, its station emphasizes its power manifolds.

Power conflicts in governments, corporations, the banking world are likely to pop up.

The ultimate goal of Pluto is always to revamp, transform, reverse a situation, organization, event or whatever...

It digs up what is under the surface and pulls down what is up.

Archaeologists will love Pluto's station in the earth sign Capricorn !

At 23° Capricorn, stationing Pluto creates restlessness, above all.

After all, this degree area is related to changes, restlessness, and things starting to move.

Whenever Pluto is involved, expect situations or events that have a HUGE emotional impact though.

When Pluto stations and turns retrograde, some mass events causing many casualties are to be feared.

Perhaps, this is so because Pluto rules death and also mass events.

Around April 27, Mars at 17° Gemini squares Neptune at 17° Pisces resulting in a lack of zest, not feeling too well or facing health issues.

17° in mutable signs is called a degree of "impotence", denoting that everything is currently at a standstill.

Around this last week of April, your actions can be a waste of energy and though some of you want to escape from some situation, it looks like whatever you do, it's just going down the drain or a waste of energy.

Some of you may dislike their work, get fired or just have to take a day off.

This waxing square in mutable (and double) signs depletes and disperses one's energy, opens the body for darker energies and negativity.

Try to take some more rest.

Saturn stations too and turns retrograde at 20° Capricorn around April 29-30.

People or events from the past may re-enter your world.

There are clouds in the sky though.

Actually, the attentive reader may have noticed that both Saturn and Pluto station around the same period AND are opposing the Lunar North Node.

Stationing Saturn is now very strong and powerful because it rules the sign it is in and it is stationary at the same time.

Capricorn traits will mark this month of April, suggesting events related to the earth (the Planet), governments, the corporate and banking world, construction work and buildings, the Establishment (authorities or leaders or royalties or CEO's), control, security and privacy, borders and fences, the elderly, austerity and restrictions.

Stationing Saturn at 20° Capricorn creates a distance and may point to the passing of a celebrity, CEO,...

Whenever Saturn and Pluto together oppose the North Node of the Moon, there is more emphasis on restrictions, feeling blocked, seeing no progress, issues with authorities, facing the passing of people (especially elderly people), increased or more intense power conflicts and turbulent events.

You might become discouraged indeed.

As long as both Saturn and Pluto oppose the Lunar North Node in the coming months, it's likely some hardship and suffering, restrictions and mass disasters or events will affect many.

This configuration is one of hindered developments.

Be aware that these heavy transits in Capricorn point to a period of transition and closure and only reflect the current "Zeitgeist" that will pass anyway.

Mars Saturn Connections

In the past we have written many times about different planetary connections, analogies or affinities, mainly containing the love planet Venus.

We also started analyzing Mars connections and have written about the Mars-Jupiter connection before.

This time, we want to delve deeper into the Mars-Saturn connection.

When do we have a Mars-Saturn connection, theme or analogy?

In most cases, the following configurations are used (there are more though (!) but this would lead us too far and make it more complicated than necessary):
  • Saturn in the 1st house
  • Mars in the 10th house
  • the ruler of the 1st house in the 10th house
  • the ruler of the 10th house in the 1st house
  • Mars in a close conjunction, square or opposition with Saturn (a tight sextile or trine counts too but in a minor way)
  • Mars at the solstice point of Saturn
  • Mars in Capricorn
  • Saturn in Aries
When at least three of the above listed analogies or connections can be found in the natal chart, we have a very powerful Mars Saturn connection that will be felt and noticed in the character and life of the native.

What does the Mars Saturn connection signify?

Mars and Saturn are actually opposites because Mars represents the unrestricted primal instinctive urges and impulses while Saturn represents the restricting boundaries and higher consciousness that suggest a cautious and more strategic attitude.

Both planets combined together act like driving with the brakes on.

In essence, this combo is still forward-moving, pushing through albeit with difficulties, objections, oppression, restrictions, etc.

There is always some kind of resistance to tackle and people with powerful Mars Saturn connections can hardly ever reach anything without being criticized and held back either by others or by regulations or...

This connection is quite rigid, a bit harsh and lacks compassionate feeling now and then.

People who have strong Mars Saturn affinities have learned to persevere and continue tenaciously which may be perceived as tough but it's just part of what makes them strong.

Because Saturn rules stones, it does not surprise that many health issues have to do with the bones, back, teeth, calcification and stone-building.

Powerful Mars Saturn connection suggest living in a competitive environment which results in performance-oriented attitude.

Many "achievers" and workaholics have this connection in their natal chart.

Such natives have the impression that they always have to fight their way through anything and that the environment is more a burden that blocks their instinctive drives.

Such people have to learn to cope with and overcome obstacles, regulations, delays.

When this connection is very powerful, the outer environment may find such natives "difficult" or even disturbing because of the stress and tension they "radiate."

Relaxation is not easy for people with very powerful Mars Saturn affinities, but it is still critical to bring more balance to their life.

Otherwise, health issues will pop up.
