Love Forecasts for April 2007

While the influence of stationing Pluto at 28° Sagittarius may (and will) still be felt, Mercury conjuncts Uranus at 16° Pisces on April 1.

Sudden encounters and/or news (letters, documents, messages,...) may leave a deep impression. Also sudden insightful ideas may bring a solution and breakthrough. Mercury and Uranus almost always bring some sort of emergency issues. Both planets are related to electronics and "electricity", the latter in either a physical or a metaphysical way.

If you are born around November 11, February 8, May 10 or August 12 expect love's sorrow around April 2-3 when Venus at 18° Taurus squares Saturn at 18° Leo. You may feel quite down now.

Also, it's not a good time to negotiate something now. The Venus-Saturn square is not quite a diplomatical one.

Around April 4 Venus at 21° Taurus squares Neptune at 21° Aquarius which is to say that Venus is still the apex planet of the T-square in which Saturn opposes Neptune. Unfulfilled hopes are part of your reality the more so because Mercury at 19° Pisces squares stationing Jupiter at 19° Sagittarius at the same time.

The expectations are way too high. You tend to fly too high and reality will bring you back down, especially in matters of love.

Jupiter stations around April 6 at 19° Sagittarius and turns backward. Retrograde Jupiter strong in its own sign wants to accomplish so much things that it is unrealistic to do so profoundly. There is too much hunger for new experiences.

Retrograde Jupiter in the double and mutable sign Sagittarius becomes too superficial and more restless than ever. There is more confusion and error in judgement possible too.

On the other hand, insight may grow during a retrograde Jupiter.

Mars enters Pisces on April 6 too, adding to the confusing times. The fire planet Mars becomes unfocused and diffuse in the mutable water sign Pisces. The energy of Mars goes out to helping the ones who suffer or are in need.

If you are born around August 27, November 26, February 22 or May 24 be careful around April 9-10. It may become disruptive and accident-prone days. A visit to the hospital may be indicated.

Also, expect quite stressful days full of disputes and tension. Living together with someone may be a real issue for you now.

Mercury at 28° Pisces squares Pluto at 28° Sagittarius around April 10 which may bring some obsessions. Focus on accomplishing a plan. Mental Mercury enters fiery Aries on April 10 increasing the need to think and communicate what's on your mind.

Venus enters mutable Gemini on April 12 bringing more flirtous times. Venus in Gemini is often called the social butterfly and this position certainly favors social activities.

If you are born around August 27, November 26, February 22 or May 24 your love life is going down hill it seems. There may be a secret affair that brings you into trouble.

On April 19 Saturn turns direct at 18° Leo. We'll have to see if this station especially affects royalties. Anyway, Saturn is still in its detriment in Leo and more self-centered than ever. Sharing and expressing oneself may be rather difficult. Wait for Saturn to leave Leo to let your heart rule again.

On April 20 the Sun enters fixed and material Taurus bringing the focus on tangible goods and fixing projects.

There is quite some planetary activity around April 23-24: Venus at 12° Gemini squares Mars at 12° Pisces; Venus squares the Moon's Node and Mars conjoins the Moon's Node at 13° Pisces. If you are born around June 5, September 7, December 6 or March 4 this configuration denotes some really passionate moments, eventually related to shared group activities. For some, this configuration can get a highly sexual overtone.

Enjoy!

Very often a conjunction of the Moon's Node with a planet may bring a new relationship into your life. When Mars is that planet also be prepared for some quarrels.

Short-lived enjoyable or exciting moments await you around April 27 when Venus at 17° Gemini squares Uranus at 17° Pisces. Mercury enters material Taurus the same day so that you may receive some nice stuff now (presents, gifts, parcels or whatever material goods).

Around April 28 Venus at 18° Gemini opposes Jupiter at 18° Sagittarius bringing expenses and/or an expansion of your material world. Unexpected windfalls may occur.

Mars conjuncts Uranus at 17° Pisces around April 29 bringing anger, haste or passion. The tension is once more high, the more so because Mars at 18° Pisces also squares Jupiter of expansion at 18° Sagittarius. Try to break free from any stress, but do it wisely.

What's New on Our Web Site?

Last month we updated our web site with the following additions:
  • we added a page about the Composite Charts and how to read these horoscopes. It is the first page in a series about these compatibility charts that we will publish online.
  • we updated our marriage horoscopes page with another useful tip. Try to avoid any marriage during the so-called "dies atri."

The dies atri are "unlucky" or dark days, chaotic days and days full of delay or trouble. The dies atri are from Roman origin and denote days on which nothing new could be done. Moreover, Romans thought the month of May and the first half of June were terribly unlucky months to get married in. Evidence shows this is not quite true though.

However, regarding the dies atri, some astrologers claim that there is something to it. We have not researched these days yet but present them for your information.

Also, these days have no signification if you are born on one of them. It's not because you're born an such a dark day that your life will be "miserable." We'll try to gather some information to find out if the dies atri are valid or not in electional astrology.

Fated Encounters

It sometimes happens that seemingly out of nothing something or someone enters into your life and turns it upside down for good or for bad.

Call it a life changing encounter.

In astrology such karmic or "fated encounters" are said to be indicated by a seldom used imaginary point, the Vertex (Vx).

Most astrological software programs calculate this sensitive and imaginary point, but it's used rarely by astrologers.

We recommend that you use this point in all your astrological work as it may give additional and valuable insight.

What is the Vertex?

In astrology all important planes are created by "great circles" (that pass through the center of a sphere). Where these circles intersect there are some important points.

So it as that the intersection of the Ecliptic (the apparent path of the Sun across the sky) and the Horizon in the east marks the Ascendant.

The brilliant and innovative astrologer Charles Jayne wondered why the intersection of the Ecliptic in the west and the Prime Vertical was not used. He called the intersection of the Ecliptic and the Prime Vertical in the west the Vertex. The opposing point is called the "Anti-Vertex" or , more commonly, the East Point (Ep).

The Vertex is a sensitive point that can always be found on the right side (western half) of the horoscope between the 5th and 8th houses.

Because these houses are centered around the Descendant (the sensitive point indicating "encounters and meetings") the Vertex is associated with external or outside influences and encounters that come into our own lives. This way, the Vertex (Vx) acts like an auxiliary Descendant.

After extensive research, Charles Jayne associated the Vertex with "karmic destiny", while other astrologers associate it with:

  • "fated encounters"
  • "your calling or the Ray energy to be cultivated in this lifetime"
  • "a place where we easily give ourselves over to something beyond the scope of our own life and over which we have no control"
  • "what you draw into your life"
  • "one's work productivity"
  • "cosmic awareness"
  • "a doorway that gives access to other realities"
  • "ESP, psychic phenomena, visions etc."
The Vertex can work in different ways.
  • Your natal Vertex can be activated by conjunctions or oppositions of transiting (or progressed!) planets and other sensitive points.

  • It can also be activated when the horoscope of another person, place or organization activates your natal or progressed Vertex. In horoscope comparison, synastry, you can find very close conjunctions of the Vertex of one person to a point or planet of the other one when there is some significant interaction between both going on.
The Vertex in the progressed horoscope seems to be more important and should not be neglected. We already mentioned this on our when to find love page !

Also, progressed planets or points conjunct your natal Vertex are significant.

So, always check your natal AND progressed Vertex points and always take notice of EXACT conjunctions and oppositions from planets/points (that happen in the same degree in a sign).

For example, if your Vertex is posited at 5°21' Cancer, only take the planets into account that are between 5°00' - 5°59' Cancer or Capricorn.

Depending on where it falls in your own chart, the Vertex brings "attractions and encounters", not necessarily romantic or physical contacts though. It may go from friendships and people entering your life (especially with your Vertex in the 5th or 7th house), patronage (especially with the Vertex in your 6th house) to material gain and spiritual messages from the Universe or psychic connections (especially when the Vertex is in your 8th house) too.

The Vertex is just about more than love, so, take this into account and don't be disappointed when love does not knock on your door when transiting Venus conjuncts your progressed or natal Vertex. Perhaps you may receive a gift or visit a nice place with some impact as well.

Anyway, expect something important from the external world to enter into your life, for good or for bad. Also be aware that the most intense and powerful events or encounters only seem to happen when there is a planet conjunct the Vertex in your natal chart and another transiting or progressed planet or point conjuncts this natal combo.

Sometimes the outside influence or encounter can be quite upsetting because what the Universe plans with us may not always coincide with our own plans. The Universe is stronger though, so that you will have to succumb to these higher powers and encounters which enter your life through the Vertex point.
