I prefer giving gifts to getting them. But if receiving, it needs to be sentimental...something connected to a sweet memory.
Like a gumball machine ring to remember the place where we said "I love you". Can be anything but must be thoughtful or special in that only you and that other person would know the shared secret meaning.
